My Story
I'm Julie Paquette, and I’ve spent the past 21 years as an educator within the French Catholic school system. Meditation has been a part of my life for over 13 years, and I’m passionate about sharing its benefits with others.
I’m also the proud mother of two wonderful daughters, Addie Skye and Emery Grace. They are both energetic, social, and full of life! Their interests range from playing ringette and reading books to rollerblading, biking, scootering, camping, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying the snow. They’re also big fans of yoga, exercise, laughter, journaling, drawing, and skating. Along with their love for crystals and nature, they share my passion for meditation. I cherish spending time with them, and I also love painting in my free time.
The mission behind Ignite Their Souls is simple yet powerful: to help children calm their minds. Once they learn this essential skill—often more complex than it seems—they gain the ability to navigate life with greater balance and clarity. Teaching children how to turn their thoughts off and on at will is an incredible strength, and it’s a skill I aim to help every child I guide develop.

My Approach
When most people try meditation for the first time, they typically have one main goal in mind: to reduce stress and calm the mind. Meditation is a powerful tool for quieting the mental chatter. It’s not only helpful—it can be life-changing in countless ways. It brings peace to your mind, body, and soul.
Through meditation, you can cultivate a greater sense of balance in life, deepen your self-awareness, and develop a more profound understanding of yourself and the world around you. It also fosters more compassion and empathy for others and the situations they face.
So, when is the best time to meditate? While some suggest morning or late evening, when things are quieter, I believe the best time is always now. The present moment is all we truly have. Once you shift your focus to the here and now, you’ll find it easier to sit in stillness and embrace the peace of the present.
